A native of Wabash, Indiana, tenor Wesley Dunnagan has recently appeared as Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor with the South Bend Lyric Opera, where he will return this season as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel. Performance highlights include operas Falstaff (Dr. Caius), Così fan tutte (Ferrando), Gianni Schicchi (Rinuccio), as well as oratorio solo appearances in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with Nathan Gunn in the title role, the Evangelist and tenor soloist in Bach’s Passions, Handel’s Messiah, La resurrezione, and Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day, Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore, Coronation Mass and Grosse Messe, Haydn’s Nelsonmesse, and Beethoven’s Mass in C. He holds degrees in German Studies and Music from Stanford University, and a Master of Sacred Music from the University of Notre Dame. Wesley plans to complete his Doctor of Musical Arts in spring 2019 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he is a current Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellow in Italian.
