Victoria Schemenauer, soprano, is an avid performer of art song and opera alike. A lover of new music, highlights of her last season include premiering the role of The Girl in Paul Herman’s newly composed opera The Gift with South Bend Lyric Opera, Esme in Jamey Guzman’s opera Open Heart Surgery in conjunction with the New Works Project at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, and joining the South Bend Lyric Opera chorus for the premier of Marjorie Rusche’s Our American Odyssey. Past performances with the SBLO include Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Paggio (Rigoletto).

 

Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, Victoria recently completed her Master of Music at Indiana University where she appeared as Erste Knabe (Die Zauberflote) with IU Opera, as well as the chorus of Falstaff and Die Rondine. Passionate about community outreach, Victoria sang as The Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte) across central and southern Indiana public schools with Reimagining Opera for Kids, a non-profit community arts and education organization based in Bloomington, IN.
