
American bass-baritone Jonathan Kimple is recognized for his stage presence, strong musicianship, and a rich, commanding voice. He has spent the last five years singing with the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, appearing in over a hundred performances. This year, Mr. Kimple began teaching at the University of Notre Dame as an adjunct voice professor.
Mr. Kimple has appeared in numerous productions with the Santa Fe Opera, Sarasota Opera, Portland Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland, and Minnesota Opera, where he created the role of the German Soldier in the Pulitzer Prize-winning opera, Silent Night. A three-time district winner of the Metropollitan Opera National Council Auditions, he is also the recipient of awards from the Santa Fe Opera and Sarasota Opera.
An Iowa native, Mr. Kimple holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music. He currently lives in South Bend with his wife, soprano Kiera Duffy, and their son.
