Emily Chidalek is excited to be working again with South Bend Lyric Opera! Emily has her bachelor's degree in Theatre Performance (with a minor in Psychology), and a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling, both from IU South Bend. She anticipates becoming a drama therapist, to continue using her love of theatre to help others. Emily has a small business, “Love, Emily”, that focuses on sustainable kitschy art. Emily is also the Costume Designer and Stage Manager for Culver Academies. Recent design credits: Ragtime, Ghost Quartet (South Bend’s Costume Design of the Decade, BroadwayWorld 2020), Songs for a New World, and Next to Normal (Art 4); Rent, Puffs, Robin Hood, and She Kills Monsters (Culver Academies); Don Giovanni, La Traviata, and Cavalleria Rusticana (South Bend Lyric Opera). Emily has worked regionally and internationally as a costumer, scenic artist, stage manager, and performer. She has also joined a theatrical team that broke a world record; ask her about it! Emily would like to thank those who have patience with her while she is busy, and who hold space for her when she needs it.
