Betsy won the La Porte Symphony’s “Hoosier Star” competition in 2011 and was featured in the show Pop Stars: Best of the Best. Since then, she has sung in La Porte Symphony's A Cole Porter Celebration and in the Children's Classical Concert, A Day at the Opera, where she performed La Traviata excerpts for 4,000 enthusiastic new opera fans. Betsy’s oratorio solos include Bach’s Coffee Cantata, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, and Bach’s St.John’s Passion (Grand Rapids Symphony), Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Faure’s Requiem (Calvin Oratorio Society), Rutter’s Requiem (Grand Rapids Youth Symphony), and Respighi’s Laud to the Nativity (St. Joseph Pro Musica). Betsy has also been the recurring soprano soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Zeeland Chorus and Illiana Oratorio. In new productions, Betsy portrayed Jenny Lind in the Louisville, KY premier of When Jenny Lind Came To Town and Millie in the Acorn Theater’s premier of The Lords of the Levee. She has also played Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro, Casilda in The Gondoliers, Pitti-Sing in The Mikado, Eliza in My Fair Lady, Lily in The Secret Garden, and Tseitel in Fiddler on the Roof. Betsy received her Bachelor in Music from the University of California at Irvine, and studied summers at AIMS in Graz, Bay View Conservatory, Brevard Music Center and Aspen Music School.

Betsy made her SBLO debut during its inaugural season, as Musetta in La Boheme, in the spring of 2016.
